We aim to make lunchtimes a happy, calm, and welcoming part of the school day, where children feel cared for and supported. Pupils are encouraged to show good table manners, sit sensibly, and use cutlery appropriately as they enjoy their meals together.
Lunch is eaten in the Village Hall, where all children come together as a school community. Each lunchtime begins with saying Grace, offering a moment of reflection and gratitude before eating.
If you or your child have any concerns about lunchtimes, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
Hot meals are freshly prepared on site by Caterlink and are enjoyed by the majority of our pupils. School dinners should be booked via ParentPay by the Friday of the week before they are required. Where applicable, payment is due at the time of booking.
Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) provide free school lunches for all children in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 in state-funded schools in England, regardless of household income. For eligible pupils, no charge will be added when meals are booked.
We believe that sharing food is an important part of caring for the whole child. Our meals are freshly prepared and thoughtfully planned to provide a healthy, balanced diet that supports children’s wellbeing, learning, and growth. We encourage children to enjoy their food and to develop positive habits that will support them throughout their lives.
If your child has a food allergy, please complete the relevant form and return it to the school office with the relevant medical information. Caterlink will then be able to provide a suitable alternative menu.
Packed lunches may be brought to school. Please ensure all containers are securely sealed and clearly named. Sweets, chocolate bars, and fruit drinks are not permitted. As we are a nut-free school, nuts of any kind must not be included. Children should bring a named water bottle to school each day; fresh water is always available. Juice, squash, and fizzy drinks are not permitted.
